‘the hot new thing’

From your area of the US, Diana.

Waldorf is, apparently, the new hot thing. I particularly enjoyed how very plastic Barbie-styled reporter (sorry) seemed so not at home at all in this environment of wool and wood. One child points out, at the end of the video clip, that it doesn’t matter if they don’t have all the technology in school — they can have it at home. Well, yes. And their parents, who can afford all the modern gadgets, can also afford private tutoring. (There are recent posts on this blog on news items about technology in waldorf schools, so I won’t comment further on this now.)

Yes, that setting is, um, familiar to me.

Didn’t see it when it ran (don’t watch Fox News! How do you find these things?!) The plastic Barbie reporters are an indigenous species at Fox News. They probably told her to wear pink.

It’s interesting that if some really great PR is at stake, they can suddenly let go of their principles about not “overstimulating” the children by letting reporters into the school. I’m guessing a few cameras and other rather high-tech equipment came along with Barbie.

Via… the Rudolf Steiner Press this time!! But it was shared by several other anthro orgs/companies on facebook. I guess they must be watching Fox!

Yes, must have been lots of equipment! And Barbie herself is overstimulating, I’d say…
